Summer is coming soon, bringing with it great weather and more outdoor activity. Many of us have been active and athletic all year round, but there is a break from training during the summer months.  Our body and mind need rest and a change of scenery, but it’s worth asking yourself: is a three-month training break worth all the work you’ve done so far? We will share with you the reasons why you should continue training in the summer:

  1. STAY CONSISTENT

A break in the summer means breaking the routine, and in the autumn it will be more difficult to start training again. Continued exercise will keep you energized and help you reach your goals more easily.

  1. NO EXCUSES

The weather is a sore subject for Estonians, which is also reflected in training. It’s too cold, too windy, too cool, too hot, too much sun, etc. How often do we lie to ourselves and find an excuse to skip a workout? Keep training at the sports club and you can cross the weather factor off your list of excuses because we always have good training weather!

  1. BROKEN PROMISES

In the summer I will run, ride a bike and roller-skate! Great, but how many times and how effectively did you do it last summer? Consistently every day, at a fast pace, for at least 30 minutes straight?

  1. ETERNAL BEACH-BODY

After training in the winter and spring, you should not throw your efforts away in the summer. By exercising in the summer, you keep yourself in shape and won’t have to worry about the beach form. The mind rests and the stress level is low.

  1. BALANCE IS THE KEY

During the summer, you can enjoy life with friends and never miss barbecue parties, as training helps to keep your diet balanced.

  1. YOU ARE RESTED

On hot summer nights, it can be difficult to fall asleep. Moderate exercise and physical activity will bring you good sleep, and you will feel fresh and energetic the next day.

  1. MORE HAPPY HORMONES

When you leave the gym after a good workout, you feel the release of endorphins that cause satisfaction. You are cheerful, energetic and more active during the long summer days.

  1. PHYSICAL ENDURANCE

We are certainly much more active during the summer. We mow grass, chop wood, swim and take long walks in nature. However, all this does not provide a uniform physical load and can even cause injuries due to overload. Targeted, consistent full-body training in the gym supports your physical abilities.

MyFitness recommendation: continue your regular and already familiar routine, but come to training by bike or on foot instead. You can enjoy the weather (if it allows) and increase your daily activity. Don’t forget that you’ve already worked so hard to make training a part of your life. Don’t let the summer months change that – you can do it!
