Whole body shaping training program: who is it for and why join?
Starting September, MyFitness personal trainer Virdžinja will launch new workout programs. She views the training programs as a great opportunity to reach more people in less time. Virdžinja says this about training: “In addition to working in small groups, the training program helps create a good team feeling. Its structure is individual enough to work with the goals-problems-injuries-experiences of each person, but at the same time, you can do fun general activities to keep the energy and mood up.”
We asked our members how they how they got into the program. Members Sandra and Regina share their experience with the training program; for them group training turned out to be the best option. Let’s take a closer look at how the program went for Sandra and Regina, what they learned and what they will take with them.
The experience of the training program with Virdžinja.
There are many different training programs, and let’s find out more precisely what they are. In their structure, they are similar to personal training. The program includes an 8-week training plan, and the trainer helps set goals by approaching each participant individually. The main difference from personal training is the number of participants. 3-4 people participate in one program at the same time, which is a good encouragement for beginners, and also helps more experienced participants set new goals and achieve consistency.
Trainer Virdžinja shares her experience from the program: “When creating a new group, there is always a little excitement about experience and background of participants. The current groups have proven one hundred percent that age, professional experience and training experience do not matter. Rather, it just gives you the motivation to work a little harder, leave thoughts about your job at the door of the gym and keep up with your training partners.”
What is the value of the training program for all participants?
“I have only been to the gym a few times, and the last one was 5-6 years ago. Quite spontaneously, in anticipation of the upcoming summer, I thought about joining this program. The experience of participating in the training program was incredibly cool. Firstly, the group is small and everyone is given attention, so you are constantly in the trainer’s orbit. Secondly, the group itself is really nice, and the trainer is even nicer. Encouragement and support from your trainer and group mates helps a lot (especially if you’re stuck with some of your least favourite exercises). Thirdly, without a trainer, someone like me wouldn’t know how to properly use machines, maintain proper posture, and come up with those other creative exercises that can be done without a machine. Fourthly, the routine and positive group pressure “it would be embarrassing to miss a class” also have a positive effect,” Sandra lists her experience in the training program so far.
“Let’s be honest, the reason I didn’t move much before joining the training group was not a lack of knowledge. The sneakers were also waiting in the closet for a long time. There are plenty of tutorials and training plans on the web, but they could not get me to act. There are many excuses for laziness: a stressful period at work (and when is it not?), the lack of suitable group training. Personal training seemed too luxurious an option. If I started to work out in the gym alone, I felt insecure. When in the spring I saw on the website of the sports club an offer for a two-month period with a trainer and a group, it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for a long time, but could not articulate. I signed up for a program,” says Regina, who is participating in the training group.
“Now, after two months, I have achieved my main goal – to shake myself out of my comfort zone and feel refreshed. I dare to strongly recommend this form of training to people like myself, who are mature and have lost clear body contours. Physical effort becomes a natural part of the week because you include it in your calendar. In addition, it’s as if you are also responsible for your training partners,” adds Regina.
How has the training program benefited you?
“What I love most about this program is the discovery that strength training is an enjoyable and even meditative experience, despite my previous preconceptions. You don’t have to rush and jump. I love that with each workout you can achieve more and perform exercises at a leisurely pace. In this case, by taking breaks at the right time, you can feel how your muscles work and how your body develops,” says Sandra.
Now that I have felt a taste of a well-being, I have no desire to stay in the corner of the armchair whole evening,
“A calm and reasonable effort does not create a desire to sneak away because today you don’t feel like it or you don’t have the energy. A couple of times I had to miss a training, but that didn’t make me want to give up; on the contrary, I wanted to be there next time even more. If before I felt that my body was somehow falling apart, now I have regained my muscles. In such a short time it is impossible to get into super shape, but there is much more energy and the ability to concentrate has also improved. Right now I have a plan on what would be the best way to continue training. Now that I have felt a taste of a well-being, I have no desire to stay in the corner of the armchair whole evening,” Regina says confidently.

New opportunity to join Virdžinja’s workouts from 04.09, then new training programs will start. The program provides an opportunity to find like-minded travel companions by training twice a week with a trainer and group mates. At the same time, attention is also paid to diet and achieving better well-being.
The trainer especially recommends joining a group to people who have walked around the machines. Trainer Virdžinja adds: “By getting to know the machines with the group and increasing the load week by week, you can discover that the gym is actually a really cool place!”
